My Name Is Khan delayed to roll mid 2008 (August)

Here is some news on Karan Johar's next, My Name is Khan. Contrary to speculation about Kajol turning down the film, the good news is that the actress is working out the dates with good friend KJo. A reliable source says, "Karan and Kajol are trying to work out dates. She is very much on the project."

The bad news is that the film has been delayed and it rolls mid-2008. Karan is busy finalising the details for his next production starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra, which is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

Meanwhile, Karan is busy attending endorsement meetings. Karan will now endorse a popular coffee brand. Unfortunately, his popular television show, Koffee with Karan is no longer on air.

Wasn't it originally supposed to start in mid 2008? I think the media made a big deal trying to claim that Shahrukh had left Hirani's and Shankar's films for Karan, but that was of course just bad mouthing. I'm not sure if Karan actually had said at any time it would start earlier... But anyway, I'm a bit disappointed, because I'm waiting for this film so eagerly. Hopefully still Shahrukh will come up with something to release a film or two (preferebly two) next year...

I cant call My Name is Khan just a film because it will be a Karan- Srk- Kajol film if the news are to be believed and this means alot to me..
This trio and their films are always special to me : heart: :heart..so every news about it makes me excited..but in the mean time I am so much afraid to be disapointed

There is no announcement from parts :mad:...and nobody confirms Kajol which again makes me nervous ..so I am on a rollercoster ride...will it happen ..will it not..will Kajol be there..will she not..

I have the same feeling that Kajol is the one who will be a trouble to this project because of her husband :mmph:.. I love Ajay but I strongly believe there is something about him stopping Kajol accepting the film with SRK ..I read so many projects of him with Kajol and they have just finished a romantic :confused: comedy together so Kajol is having no excuse..their films never worked as a couple but Ajay is still pushing and Kajol is still prefering her family to her carrier and we poor fans :frown:of this exceptional jodi has nothing to do but hope..

KJo’s Khan to begin this August


Karan Johar’s next film My Name is Khan, is finally expected to go on the floors in August this year. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead. Post-marriage and motherhood, this will be Kajol’s third film. After her comeback with Kunal Kohli’s Fanaa, Karan has been very keen to work with his favourite actress.

A source says, "The film revolves around the relationship of a husband and wife and what happens between them post 9/11. A bulk of the filming will take place in the US. Since most of the film will be shot on locales in and around UK, it remains to be seen whether Kajol will take up the project. The actress has always maintained that she does not like to be away from her daughter for too long. Currently, the actress is busy with her home production U Me Aur Hum." Following the success of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kajol took a sabbatical from movies. This is the only film that SRK has signed for the year and will be putting his entire attention on it after his other releases.

Honestly, I don't understand the late beginning. In general, Karan and ShahRukh tend to release their films on Diwali, but shooting in August and release in October/November seems impossible to me...
Yes, Maira, it's a point, because I am sure, too, that the topic is racism and a new approach to faith (that you become more aware of your religion because you are, after 9/11 treated in another way). It would suit what ShahRukh is thinking about religions and about the peaceful islamic thoughts. I am really looking forward to this film...

This film will star Abhishek, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham. Bobby Deol has a very special role in the film. This will be our only release in 2008. During 2009-2011 we hope to release at least three films per year. 2009 will see the release of our first animation film Coochie Coochie Hota Hai and the film that I'll direct which starts at the end of 2008 but will also release in 2009

I really want to see Shahrukh and Kajol together again! I´m sure that they will make an incredible job together. For me they are just the best actors I know... and I think together, they are even better!
