What does “-< Ʌ4”mean?

Does anyone know what the middle signs in the opening logo of ‘Om Shanti Om’ mean? There’s a picture of what looks like the lens of a camera. Around the circumference are the numbers 786 at the beginning, om in English and Sanskrit at the end. These I understand -sort of. But in the middle is “-< Ʌ4”. Does anyone know the significance of that? The image was important in a dream I had last night and I’m trying to figure it out. Any suggestions you could make would be appreciated.
