This was a very interesting reading, on the Make of Asoka. I love history and Asoka's life has mysticism about it
The underwater scene was quite a challenge, by watching the film I wouldn't imagine they were in a pool, it was so well made that fooled me.
I also noticed the use of the peacock an peacok feathers, but I thought it was beacuse it's a symbol for the Mughals, same as with the Lotus....
Thanks for this very interesting piece of information. :)

this was very interesting because Asoka is my favorite films of Shah Rukh and not only because he is Asoka but because we can see the emotional turmoil in men who is arrogant, mean, merciless, remorseless and after seeing all the destruction, sadness, pain the he "gained" he recognized that it really is not victory if our alone (with a woman, child or your people, towns people) and we can see the change in his heart but its sad that is too late for Aryan but not for him to change the world.
This film may not be historical but I think it gives a pretty good idea of what Asoka was all about, were myth, legend, history all merge into one

The first part of the text is fascinating. I love reading about how he interprets a character. In some interviews Shahrukhji seems to downplay this, as if he is embarrassed at being seen as putting too much thought into it, but sometimes he gives these wonderful insights.

The second part, in the 9/11 context, is - well what can you say - chilling, tragic.

Thank-you so much for posting. How I would love to have the book.
