The SRK episode was 'Joru Ka Ghulam' It saw SRK as the complete joru ka ghulam where he came and proudly accepted that he is one. His brother-in-law and mother-in-law came and shared interesting stories from the days of their courtship and it was the first time they were on national television.

The Main Hoon Na for this one was a couple where the husband is a complete pet of his wife and is happy being one. They also received a gratification of a trip to goa. There was also an Agony aunt section where SRK became the agony aunt and answered different questions of the studio audience pertaining to the topic of the day. SRK gives his billu jacket for auction.

    High Points:

SRK says he has come to the show because Gauri has asked him to... it's a demand.
Whenever there is a party it is Gauri who is in charge of everything and SRK comes there and stands the way he is asked to.
Gauri's brother comes and narrates a story. It was a party where SRK wanted to dance with Gauri and her brother was there. SRK nicely went and asked for permission. So while SRK and Gauri danced her brother stood there inspecting the whole act.

SRK's mother-in-law comes and says that SRK is just like Gauri's father who is also a complete Joru Ka Ghulam and SRK adds that his father was also one. So it's the family tradition that he is carrying forward.

so funny!! It's pretty natural of Gauri's borther to try break Shahrukh's ankles at that time...but if he tried to do that now, I seriously would break her brother's bones.

Re: SRK on Farah's show Tere Mere Beech Mein

What prompted you to cast Shah Rukh Khan in the role of a `joru ka ghulam' in the finale episode of Tere Mere Beach Mein?

Shah Rukh may be brash but when his wife wants him to be diplomatic, he listens to her. At home, Gauri rules. He doesn't enjoy parties but when there is one at Mannat, he will quietly take a bath and come down.
For most of the evening, he will be standing outside, welcoming guests, then, escorting them to their cars and waving goodbye. We call him the `darwan'. The message that comes through at the end of the episode is, make your wife happy if you want a happy married life.

Is your husband, Shirish Kunder, hen-pecked too?

That's a myth that has been exploded in this episode. In this marriage, he's the dominating partner.

You managed a casting coup by getting Shah Rukh's mother-in-law and brotherin-law on TV for the first time. It couldn't have been easy?

Vikrant didn't need much convincing. I told him it was my show and he had to be on it. He's great fun, a typical Delhi guy with a Haryanvi accent.
He would run after Shah Rukh when he was wooing Gauri, wanting to bash him up. I guess Shah Rukh has forgiven him for that because he's very fond of him now.

    And his mother?

Auntie needed a lot of persuasion.
She's very camera conscious and would look into space while answering questions. But she adores Shah Rukh. He's a wonderful son-in-law who never misses a family function at their home. They are a normal, upper middle-class, non-filmi family.
I have stayed with them when I was in Delhi. And even when Shah Rukh is visiting, things don't change.

I knew Shah Rukh would be a wonderful guest but his in-laws were a lovely surprise too. So was Salma aunty, Salman's (Khan) mom. She was so easy and candid. Hrithik (Roshan) was a revelation too, as were Neil (Nitin Mukesh) and Abhay (Deol). Some of the common people were also inspiring.

I'm told you've already been given the go-ahead for Season 2?

Star TV was ready to give me a month's extension. But I needed a break. Entertainment Ke Liye Sab Kuch Karega had started. I wanted to work on my script and also needed time for myself. Tere Mere Beach Mein is not simply about chatting or judging. It needs research. You have to fix on the right topic, get friends to talk, and then bring in the common man.
But I'll be back. And in the next season, we'll widen our net; get in more sportsmen and perhaps a politician or two as well. We'll also look for exciting subjects. Once you know what to ask, it's not difficult to get your guests to open up.

Do you like being behind the camera or facing it?

Definitely behind, directing a film. I hate getting my hair done, wearing jewellery and putting on make-up.
I'd rather be in my tracks and rubber chappals, saying, "Lights, camera, action." Scripting is an ordeal but I love directing.

When will you finish scripting Happy New Year?

I've returned to the job today and should finish in a couple of months.
Then four-five months of pre-production before we go on the floors.

After two big hits, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, your comfort level with Shah Rukh will be high.

If it's any higher, we will be lying in each other's arms.

Still, you've given him two of his biggest commercial blockbusters as a producer.

I'm very possessive of Shah Rukh, ditto him. I want him tomake films only with me and I'm sure he doesn't like me choreographing songs for other actors. But we are too practical to stop each other from doing that. I love him so much that I want every film of his to be a big hit. But mine should be a bigger hit.

And when will Shrish's film take off?

He's been working on four scripts simultaneously and talking to a lot of people. Any one of them could take off by next year too.

Will you be a part of his film?

I'm always there for him as a sounding board. And I will definitely choreograph the songs. But still he's not a `joru ka ghulam'.

`If making the family happy makes you a hen-pecked husband, then sure, I'm one'

`If making the family happy makes you a hen-pecked husband, then sure, I'm one'

You're a brave guy to go on Farah Khan's show, Tere Mere Beach Mein, and admit that you are a hen-pecked husband.
Every morning when I read the newspaper or watch TV, I learn new things about myself... That I'm sweet, sexy, lovable, selfish and scheming. It's all someone else's point of view, but sometimes, in the crowd of suppositions, even I don't know who or what I am.
Friends like Farah (Khan) insist that I'm a `joru ka ghulam'. I wouldn't know because I've been married only once. But if being courteous, listening to your wife, taking her out and making the family happy makes you a hen-pecked husband, then sure, I'm one.

Some think that it's a boring tag but for me it's the bravest and sweetest thing. My dad was nice to his wife, and so is my father-in-law. I guess, that makes them hen-pecked husbands too.

I know you completely surrender to your wife when it comes to clothes despite being a style icon.
When I entered the industry, I didn't know much about styling. Even after being on the cover of Vogue, I still don't understand clothes. During the day I'm in jeans, Tees and sneakers. At night, if I have to go out, I put on a black suit and a tie. My kids think I'm unconventionally cool.

Earlier, when designers came to discuss costumes, I sent them to Gauri. Fortunately, the kind of films I did usually required me to be in jeans. Gauri helped out with the designing initially though she later admitted that all she did was say "yes" to everything. (Chuckles) I guess the clothes looked so bad on me that she wanted to deny any part in choosing them.

Karan (Johar) was the fashion consultant on Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. I sent him to Gauri too, they hit it off well, became best friends and Karan took over the designing.

And now that he is launching his own line, you will be walking the ramp for him.
Over the years, I've grown to become stylishly cool. My friends insist I'm a natural clothes horse.
But I still feel odd walking the ramp.

I've done it only thrice. Once to launch the Om Shanti Om wardrobe, with two seasoned models, Deepika (Padukone) and Arjun (Rampal), then for Manish Malhotra and Kolkata Knight Riders, with my arm in a sling.
And last evening for Tag Heuer.

So far, it was just walking and talking on the ramp. But Karan wants rehearsals... He wants me to behave more model-like. It's scary!

You'd rather wear tights and play the superhero in Ra 1, right?
That would be fun but I don't think we can start the film before December. It better be before I become too old to play a superhero.
The last year I was out of action because of a shoulder injury. It's taken a long time to heal after the surgery in March.

The doctors had told me I would be out of commission for nine months. It's been eight months and I've finished a film, My Name is Khan, and a couple of ads.

Three films--Ra 1, Don 2 and Happy New Year--were to start by mid-2009. But all three require physical action and my muscles are gone. I started exercising this week. I've managed to keep my weight down to 69 kilos.

Can you build a six-pack again?
Sure, I love it when people tell me that I'm cool and sexy. Both my children have amazing abs. They eat well, play hard and are outstandingly fit. I have to match up to them.

This will be one of those rare Diwalis when there won't be a Shah Rukh Khan sparkler lighting up the screen.

My Name Is Khan was planned for Diwali but the February 15 to March 10 schedule only wrapped up on Thursday. Kya karen, tough guys get injured. But Karan has Wake Up Sid.
I haven't seen it but Gauri liked it. It's a slice-of-life film that should appeal to young people. Karan makes decent, stylish and good cinema. I hope it works.

No films in 2009 means no awards... awards...

May be I should suggest they institute a Best Father of the Year Award for me. Then in the years that I don't win the Best Actor Award, they can crown me Best Dad. In fact, why don't they just give me a National Award for Best Father, at least? I'm a deserving candidate for that one.

Now that My Name Is Khan is complete, I heard that you're taking your wife off on a second honeymoon.
Gauri has already left the country. I was babysitting the kids today. I'll be joining her and some friends on Saturday for three to four days.
Back here, if I throw a party, the very next day people are discussing who were invited and who weren't.
So I decided not to give them more room for speculation. I've never been to Rome before.

I think Salman isn´t that bad guy he always seems.
I think he miss his friendship with Shahrukh a lot but he is that kind of man who can´t show his real feelings. And it´s hard for him to make the first step.
Salman doesn´t stop talking about Shahrukh in different ways althought he doesn´t react. For me that´s the best sign.
I speak out of experience. But it´s only my opinion.

This line shows that he is upset about not receiving National Award. I don't know what's wrong with National Award jury. I hate them:mad:

He has never been to the Rome:confused: But i can remember reading an airticle which said Gauri's favorite place is Rome.
Are they going their to celebrate her birthday?Does that mean no party this time at Mannat?
If they are going for their 2nd honeymoon what's the hell their friends do there:D

He has walked the ramp more than 3 times. I think he did it for omega in 2000 and again for Tag with Priyanka

Shah Rukh Khan never got a gift from Gauri

Shah Rukh Khan never got a gift from Gauri
    PTISaturday, October 3, 2009 16:48 IST Email

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan may have won many national and international awards, including 14 Filmfare trophies, but surprisingly he never got any gift from his wife Gauri in their 24-year-old relationship.

    Yogen Shah / DNA
Shah Rukh Khan has surprisingly he never got any gift from his wife Gauri in their 24-year-old relationship.
"Gauri has not given me a single gift....and the excuse she gives is 'What can I give a man who has everything including me?'," the actor said.

While talking with his director-friend Farah Khan on her celebrity chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein, to be broadcast tomorrow on Star Plus, the 42-year-old 'Baadshah' of Bollywood also revealed that his wife usually doesn't accept his gifts either.

"Normally all the gifts I've given Gauri in the last 24 years, she always accepts it and gives me a casual hug in front of all but 99.9 per cent of the times she returns the gift and takes something else in its place," Shah Rukh said.

Recalling an old incident, Shah Rukh said that his wife had once secretly exchanged his T-shirts for a handbag in London.

"I was in London after my spine injury and I bought some oversized T-shirts. I couldn't wear them so I asked Gauri to get them exchanged. But she told me that in London we can't do that," the actor said.

"Later my friends told me that Gauri had exchanged the T-shirts and got a hand-bag for herself saying since I was in hospital what would I do with the new T-shirts, instead a handbag will be more useful," he added.
