    Sunday, October 22, 2006: (Jammu):

People scrambled to catch a show of Don, which released on Friday at Jammu's KC Theater, the only multiplex in the militancy-hit state.

All shows of this much-anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer are sold out till Monday.

"It's a Shah Rukh movie, that is why the advance starts two weeks before the release and it's difficult to get a ticket at the time of Diwali. So, I got a ticket booked in advance," said Robin, a student.

But heavy rains since Friday night led to many cancellations, an unexpected bonanza for at least some fans who could not manage movie tickets in time.

"The tickets were booked in advance, but because of rains last night some advance bookings were cancelled and we got the ticket," said J T Pal, a viewer.

It is the biggest opening for any film since the fantasy thriller Krishh.

The management of the cinema hall expects an even bigger draw after Diwali and Eid, as most people are busy shopping at this time.

"I have never seen such a heavy advance booking though we have exhibited many good movies in the past, but this sort of a rush was never seen before," said Shashipal, Manager, KC Complex.

So far, Don has broken all the records of advance booking here and going by the response of the people the rush is expected to increase even more in the coming days.
