Cars flying in the air; Indian dons in Bulgaria, now settled in Goa; A king for another local don and a set formula for a story. Plain vanilla with lots of chocolate covering! This in short sums up DILWALE, Rohit Shetty's latest at the Box Office.

    DILWALE MOVIE WALLPAPERS

The action is intense, the romance oscillates between in-depth to just scratching the surface and there is a little suspense as well. The supporting characters who make up for the star cast of the film are like salad dressing, meant to make it look good. Sadly, Oscar (Sanjay Mishra), Sidhu (Varun Sharma) and Mani (Johnny Lever), at most times shout out to make their presence felt. Shetty gives no attention to scenes between these actors like he does with his cars in the air!

Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) is a timid man who runs a garage in Goa with two of his trusted workers. He has a younger brother Veer (Varun Dhawan) to whom he is a father, brother and friend. He will do anything to keep him happy. One day, Veer is attacked by goons. Raj takes matters into his own hands to teach them a lesson. We soon learn he has a past and that past begins in Bulgaria. Meera (Kajol) is an essential element of his past.

Veer falls in love with Ishita (Kriti Sanon) who he meets on the road and offers a lift to since her scooty had broken down. They fall in love. Once their romance is set, Raj has to meet her elders to fix the marriage date. In between, we are treated to a flashback of Raj's past.

The character of Raj offers no challenge to Shah Rukh Khan. This is a role he has done umpteen times in his career. He needs to do justice to his talent immersing himself in roles that challenge him. Ditto Kajol. Though, I must say that it is good to see her on screen.

That leaves us with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon two actual beneficiaries of the film. Varun can do no wrong. Give him even a half-baked role and he will sincerely pull out his best act. This is his talent. Kriti keeps her own, walking tall (pun intended) in every scene. There was not much she could do, but like Varun, she immerses herself into every scene to give it her best shot.

There are songs, some dream sequences and some mandatory fight moments. All-in-all, this is good popcorn time-pass for SRK fans.
