    New Delhi: Former Miss World Aishwarya Roy and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan will be among prominent Indian artistes who will help showcase the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi at the 2006 Commonwealth Games at Melbourne.

    Also to be featured in the presentation of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games, will be the theme song of the 2010 Games, which has lyrics by famous writer Gulzar.

    The eleven-minute presentation will showcase the heritage and culture of Delhi, the Mascot and theme song of Commonwealth Games 2010, it was revealed today in a meeting on cultural component of the Games, presided over by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

    The theme song "Dilli Chalein, Chalna hai, chal chal, chalna hai" is composed by Shanker, Ehsan and Loy. The song is sung by five eminent playback singers.

    The colourful show, to be presented at Melbourne, would be viewed by a television audience of two billion. The programme would end with an assurance to meet at Delhi in 2010. The show is being given final touches by Wizcraft.

    The Chief Minister has directed concerned artistes to prepare the show with utmost attention.

    The meeting was attended by Delhi Urban Development Minister A K Walia, President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Suresh Kalmadi, Secretary Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Delhi Chief Secretary and other senior officers, Gulzar and other eminent personalities.

    NEW DELHI: Bollywood icons Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai are expected to add glamour to the proceedings as Delhi is showcased as the next venue for the Commonwealth Games at the concluding ceremony of the Melbourne games later this year.

    Delhi will welcome the world to the Commonwealth Games to be hosted by the Indian capital in 2010 to the tune of a foot-tapping theme song penned by noted lyricist Gulzar.

    In keeping with the theme for the 2010 games of “new frontiers and new friendships'', Gulzar has written the song, which will bring to a crescendo the musical extravaganza to be presented at the closing ceremony Melbourne Games on March 26, showcasing Delhi as the next venue.

    A presentation of the plan for the 11-minute capsule that will showcase Delhi's heritage and culture was made to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit here on Tuesday.

    Also present at the presentation were Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Suresh Kalmadi and Gulzar himself.

    The music-composing trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have been finalised to set the theme song.

    Delhi will be showcased as the next venue for the Commonwealth Games at the concluding ceremony of the Melbourne Games.

    The Bollywood stars will welcome the world to the Commonwealth Games to be hosted by the Indian Capital in 2010 to the tunes of a foot-tapping theme song penned by noted lyricist Gulzar .

    The Chief Minister said the idea is to showcase Delhi and tell the world that the Capital is ready to welcome you (Commonwealth Games 2010).

    "With some two billion people estimated to watch the proceedings live on television worldwide and the Delhi Government is planning to present to them a slice of the city's lifestyle and culture at the Melbourne Games 2006," she said.

    Present at the presentation were Indian Olympic Association President Suresh Kalmadi and Gulzar himself. Delhi Urban Development Minister AK Walia and Chief Secretary S Reghunathan were also present.

    The music-composing trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have been finalised to set the theme song, that goes 'Dilli Chalna Hai, Chalna Hai, Chal, Chal, Chal, Chalna Hai', to music and the musical presentation will begin with introduction of the Delhi Games Mascot 'Shera', followed by a bhangra performance by the Punjabi pop singer Sukhwinder Singh .

    thanks for sharing, i hope we'll be able to watch on some channel. i think it has to be srk and aisnh, because nowdays, they are with amithab bacchan the most known people in india next to mahatma ghandi, when you talk to anyone about india, first people they will talk about are those people
