Ajay Devgn approach Apellate Tribune against CII’s order

what the hell is the matter with this guy? he just wont give these false allegations up.
whining, whining, whining. the way he tells it, you'd think he only got 3 screens from over 10,000(or however many) in india.
this just shows he isnt confident of his own film & his own work :tsk:

I just can't get over how ridiculous these claims by Ajay's production company are.. JTHJ is legendary Yash chopra's last film ever, it stars the biggest star and BO king in Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and one of the hottest female stars of today Katrina Kaif and the lovely Anushka Sharma.. YRF doesn't need any tricks or games. Any business sensitive theatre owner would want JTHJ to be their main film this diwali! Anything else is just excuses...

In an exclusive interview to Zoom tv, Ajay Devgn said that it's allegations between two productions houses & it has nothing to with Shahrukh..( I was just feeling little happy ) then he said "after all this is business & it has to go on" ( about Yashji's death & industry insiders forcing him to post-pone ) then came a phat reply to other question - "As there are BIG BUDGETS FILMS COMING UP, I CAN'T POST-PONE..IT'S TOO LATE "
then came the bigg bomb - Ajay said " I will fight for my rights, for my film "..
    This was telecasted in Zoom @ 7 p.m. & 10 p.m. IST..

I started to like Ajay a lot after his interview in koffee with karan.. I was instantly very fond of him, but, now..

People this guy doesn't know the difference between Socialism & Capitalism.. He still think film 'business' is Socialism.. Please select some good Economics school so that he can learn something about socialism & capitalism.. & then re-enter into producing films !!

I really hope this ends !!

Has Being Anti-Shah Rukh Khan Become A Trend?

    Shah Rukh Khan

MUMBAI: As Diwali approaches and the Box Office countdown to the much awaited Bollywood releases – Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son Of Sardaar’, speeds up, even the ‘under-current’ fireworks between the two superstars has heated up.
Sure, both actors will swear that they have no personal enmity or grudge against each other.
While Shah Rukh says he wishes for ‘Son Of Sardaar’ to do equally well as his JTHJ, he certainly feels the move by Ajay Devgn’s Ffilms against YRF was wrong. “I find it amusing. This has been decided since a year… They must have also known, so what is the problem then? If you have delayed, then it’s not our fault. I just find it wrong,” he says.
Meanwhile, Ajay claims there is no fight with SRK.
“There is no fight between both of us. This is Ajay Devgn as a producer, fighting for his right with some other producer and if people are playing with it then it’s wrong,” quotes the actor.
For those who are just catching on: Ajay Devgn Ffilms (ADF) had made a plea against Yashraj Films to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) alleging monopolistic practices in connection with the clash of the release of the latter’s JTHJ, with the former’s SOS on Diwali, Nov 13.
It was alleged that YRF was using its dominant position to ask exhibitors to dedicate more screens to JTHJ instead of SOS.
The CCI stating that there is no contravention of the provisions of the act by the alleged agreement between Yash Raj Films Private Limited and its various associated enterprises clearly rejected the plea. A “Shocked” ADF is now to approach he appellate tribunal against the order.
But the question is, what seems to be the sore point of every rival against Shah Rukh Khan? This is not the first superstar to find a bone of contention.
The once upon a time close friends from their ‘Karan Arjun’ days, Salman and SRK are no longer on talking terms. Refusing to divulge what really caused the rift, the two stars distinctly steer clear of each other. Even the tension between Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh is nothing new. Before SRK’s ‘Ra.One’ had released, the ’3 idiots’ star quoted that he hadn’t even seen the promos.
Now, reports suggest, that the ever magnanimous Salman Khan has decided to step between the Shah Rukh-Ajay clash to help his friend Devgn.
Apparently for Salman, this is an issue close to heart because he became very well associated with Ajay in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ back in 1999. Also, Salman makes a cameo appearance in ‘Son of Sardaar’ in the song ‘Po Po’.
As per reports, Salman Bhai has decided that if currently ‘SOS’ does not get its fair share of screen space as compared to ‘JTHJ’, he will clash his upcoming film ‘Kick’ with SRK’s next ‘Chennai Express’!
Interestingly both Ajay and Shah Rukh are mighty superstars in their own right. While SRK raked in huge business with his ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Don 2′, Ajay Devgn is also a rooted part of the elite 100 crore club with his ‘Singham’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’.
So, coming back to the issue: What has caused this conglomerate to form against the superstar who is otherwise so loved by the country and world over. His fans are crazy about him, they call him the ‘King of Romance’.
Is it really as Ajay Devgn puts it : “a fight between two producers” or is there really a huge rift in Bollywood, swept under the carpet, threatening to break out.

An absolutely logic & fair take about what happened behind the scenes. Felt the same negativity for the past few years whenever his film is about to release. I guess all those actors just can't digest SRK's huge stardom & success worldwide. Inshallah after JTHJ releases, I'm sure the level of their jealousy will increase to a new height!
    nika and semsem008 thank this.

they re turning it to be shahrukh film now not yashji
and now Ajay presents his excuse very early for his film not doing well
salman films always gain the maximum no of screens for each film and no one says it is because of the screen number

to hell with all losers who always find excuses and those haters who believe their to feed their fire of jealousy

What??? That's even more crazy! Seriously what the hell do they want to prove? It's not a war!!! It's entertainment business, you idiots! Wake up!
First they chose Diwali though they knew it would clash with JTHJ (stupidly overconfident maybe!!!) YRF did not give a damn but after Yash Chopra passed away some people even expected Ajay Devgan to delay his movie and get the late director a solo release (Which in no way could help or improve the business of JTHJ but just an act of respect) Not only he did not do that, he also sued the late director's company and his last movie! Seriously...what were they thinking? I doubt if they did any!
If they can't get enough cinema halls it's because the distributors and audience both are only and eagerly waiting for JTHJ and nobody cares about theirs and of course it's the result of this stupid clash... But no, the truth is always bitter!
I don't know much about law, but just logically assume that if a producer stupidly insists to get enough cinema halls on the same day of release of a big another movie, just for the sake of some challenge maybe (!!!) the least he should do is his homework! At least book the screens before the last days of release!!!! Don't you think??? As a producer he should have handled all these things months before, not now! The bloody thing is after Yash ji passed away they felt completely hopeless and instead of showing a little respect they decided to go for this cheap drama and get their little bit of publicity. And now these childish acts unfortunately is getting more ridiculous and more shameful day by day.
raksha anantharam and semsem008 thank this.

YRF's Official Statement: "Yash Raj Films Vindicated in the Case Filed by Ajay Devgan Films"

Below is the official statement released by YRF after the Competition Appellate Tribunal refused Ajay Devgan Films' appeal on Thursday, as reported by Taran Adarsh.
"8th November 2012: After the COMPETITION COMMISSION dismissed the complaint filed by AJAY DEVGN FILMS (ADF) on the basis that they were of the opinion that there was no contravention of the Act in this case, the COMPETITION APPELLATE TRIBUNAL, in a hearing today, also refused to pass any interim order against YASH RAJ FILMS (YRF) on the ground that the complainant had not put forward sufficient facts to establish that YRF had violated the Competition Act.
We completely refute the press release put out by ADF as the Competition Appellate Tribunal did not find any merit in the contention of ADF because the Tribunal was of the view that ADF has totally failed to establish that the agreements entered into by YRF with the single screens cinemas would cause any appreciable adverse effect on competition. It was also noted by the Tribunal that YRF had announced the release of its film on 27th June 2011 with its announcement of the release of its film for Diwali 2012 and commenced booking of single screen theatres in June, July & Aug 2012. On the contrary, ADF announced the release of its film only on 29th May 2012 and approached the single screen owners only in October 2012 by which time YRF had taken a lead. It was expressly noted that the number of screens contracted for JAB TAK HAI JAAN, being far less than that of EK THA TIGER, prima facie no case of adverse effect on competition, much less appreciable effect on competition, was made out.
In a free competition Ajay Devgn admits that the cine goers will decide the film that they wish to see. With both the films having opened the booking on the same day, the cine goers already seem to have expressed their verdict. Even as we go press with this release, we are being approached by a large number of theatres with offers to screen our film.
Despite several media queries, YRF has maintained a strict media silence while the matter was pending before the competent judicial authorities, deeming it inappropriate to comment on the matter while it was before the judicial authorities. YRF has never desired nor manipulated such publicity.
It is unfortunate that our refusal to comment has led to aspersions being cast on YRF’s business practises, which have always been ethical and of the highest standards.
With this matter having been laid to rest for now, we would like to get back to releasing JAB TAK HAI JAAN this Diwali on the 13th of November. This is the time to celebrate a Yash Chopra Romance, which has traditionally lit up homes worldwide, during this festive season.
And Yash Raj Films will continue to do so, jab tak hai jaan!"
    Rayhana says thanks.

wow...this is just crazy!!!I still don't understand why someone would put themselves in this kind of a situation if they can can foresee the conclusion. If you have fact on your side then fair enough you have reason for such a case but otherwise avoid the humiliation already.

I really don't get Ajay either. The only thing this has done is hurt him in my opinion....I thought he was a poor actor before this....now I also think he is a poor excuse for a human too. Just cannot think what he was hoping to get from this....the whole thing is very strange.

I haven't known much about Bollywood films until recently. I just figured out that Ajay Devgan is Kajol's husband. Wow! I wonder what she thinks of all this! It's crazy! After reading all the news articles about this, I'm not impressed with Ajay Devgan. I think he's just made himself look bad. The way he has acted just makes me not like him. I wonder how many other people who either never knew about him or never thought much about him...or even people who might have liked him...might look down on him now.

What’s even more sad is the way Devgn has brought Salman Khan into the fight. In the promos of SOS on Zoom, Salman is taking center stage in the videos, trying to make it a Khan vs. Khan battle- again. He only has a small part, but is pushing his fans to support SOS. What does that say about his relationship with Katrina as the star of JTHJ? Mr. “Being Human” must hate SRK more than he loves Katrina. Admittedly, SOS looks like Salman’s kind of movie- the silly, superficial nonsense that critics hate but has made him blockbuster after blockbuster. SRK is inspiring in his generous attitude that refuses to see it as a competition, insisting that there is enough of an audience for both films to prosper.
On second thought, perhaps SRK's new closeness with Katrina, her open fondness for him, might have something to do with Salman's behavior.

it seems that now yashji is gone, they take it further... i am sure if yash ji was alive they wouldnt do all of this nonsense
now when yash ji is not in the picture it seems that it is only shahrukh khan film.. the media and salman is pictiurizing as a shahrukh film
shahrukh has nothing to do with the producing process and screen number you people.. it is not his company it is late yash company

a big buzz to get attention... this salman is puting it into fire.. he is such a child ...
it appears to me that ajay and salman are twins now... the same screen persona.. the same way of thinking
they always feel beaten.. it is not shahrukh fault if people preferre his films in diwali... history say that.. and they already know that... as if they are picking a fight

Ajay Devgn lost out to SRK years ago, with all his movies where he starred with his wife Kajol as big flops, and all her movies with SRK became big blockbusters. He refused to see "My Name is Khan" for the longest time, if ever. Now Katrina, a long time friend of Salman, is showing a genuine fondness for SRK as well. SRK with his charm and gentlemanliness becomes number one with all his female co-stars. Ajay and Salman aren't the only losers in Bullywood (a useful word from Viram Thapa).
