Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal, friends turned foes turned friends again, G.One and RA.One respectively from the upcoming megaflick RA.One, will also lock horns in a video game inspired by the same film.

Yes, a game is being readied along these lines. The entire videogame, based on the playstation format, is being created in Los Angeles.

The game is the brainchild of Shah Rukh Khan. Says a source, "Shah Rukh sat down with a lot of software experts and envisaged the game.

He was thinking about it for a year. His thoughts on this precipitated only recently and the deal with the makers of the game was locked."

Adds the source, "RA.One is Shah Rukh's most ambitious venture till date and he is leaving no stone unturned. He might surprise you with a lot more other things during this year." RA.One is expected to release by 2011 end.

Explaining what the game is about, our source said, "There will be two main characters in the game, G.One and RA.One. Besides these two, there will be other fighters too. Basically, it's a fight game.

The game has something unique for every age group at home. It will be available at many outlets even before the film hits the theatres."

Shah Rukh has also ensured that Arjun's and his characters in the game will have not only the same look but also the same weapons, which their characters carry in the film. Let the games begin.

So awesome! But eh, not for me though, I'm an Xbox person...but, it isn't nearly impossible to buy PS2 or PS3 by the time this game is out...if it comes out in USA. I love movie-based video games! And since video games are a favorite of like everyone, this one is a guaranteed hit!

Ooh, I just heard that if you release a game, you have to release it in PS, Xbox and PC versions, you can't simply release one version...at least that's the rule here in USA.

Yes, thats true and thats the discussion I had with Rishi and he also said that the Indian developed games are not upto the standard which everyone is used to, and my answer to that was "But you never know when Indian developed games touch the mark which we dont think & who knows Ra.One is the one! -- When you dont expect something out of something, it happens! :) #BePositive!" Those were my words to him and I will stick to it! :) If we think about the past and say he/she is not good and not give him/her the chance, who knows may be we are missing out on big talent there as we didnt give them chance cuz of there past - so its same here as well! Thats what I believe! :) I am sure they are not the only ones behind in the developing the game, I am sure someone else is also working in developing it! :)

    Wafa and jg2k thank this.

Thanks Anshu for the encouraging words - I also checked out the Street Cricket Champions - graphics didn't look that impressive! Since I was working as a Software Engineer for sometime, I could probably add my two cents to your thoughts. A lot of Indian engineers work on developing games that are internationally acclaimed. A basic good infrastructure and platform are what is most lacking in India, not the talent. And in that regard I believe Red Chillies VFX as well as their collaborators for Ra.One can provide higher standards for developing this game...

    Wafa and danshula thank this.

    Thanks Jaya! :)
Thats what I was thinking too, I mean for VFX itself they are collaborating with others like Synthespian Studios, so for the game too they will. I agree they need the platform and good infrastructure.
in btw, in my post above for talent - I just referred in general and not for this! :) as far as talent goes I agree that India has loads of it in this field!

Hey don't worry - I know what you meant! I was more emphasizing on the lacking part actually - that these games are not upto the standard because these India-based companies don't have enough means to develop them as wonderfully as they are done here. :) But since Red Chillies themselves are pretty advanced and are collaborating across the world, the dream for a good video game might just come true. Like you said, Be Positive! :D:D:D

    danshula says thanks.
